Ran WP twice last night and both runs had peeps with full AF that got gear upgrades and for some unknown reason did not want to equip them, one of them actually refused after I asked nicely because his AF "looked better"...

AF gives me mana on my whm. Those "upgrades" do not

Where I am currently at gear wise piety is more important than spell speed. I like to holy a lot heh.

I've been laughing at this thread for a while now and can't believe people hinder themselves for such a stupid reason. SE could of solved this if they would of put vanity slots in at launch like they should of had in the first place. So this is pretty much all SE fault.
/facepalm
The upgrades increase your stats relevant to healing, increasing the amount of which you heal for each spell. Thus requiring you to cast fewer spells and use less MP. So the net effect is better than simply giving you more MP. And furthermore, you have Shroud of Saints, which regens your MP.
There is absolutely no reason you shouldn't upgrade every piece of AF with AK/WP gear. "I don't like the look" is not an excuse. That's fine if you're playing solo, but when you're with a party, it's not just your time you're wasting, it's everyone's. And when they add the Vanity tab, then you can "wear" your AF all the time if you want.
