The whole "zoom out your camera" fix would make sense if it freakin' stayed zoomed out. Oh, your camera got clipped by a tiny rock hanging from the ceiling? Too bad. Zoom it back out yourself. Oh, you're running backwards? Better not automatically adjust the camera's distance to keep it the same, because that would make your life easier, and we can't have that!

This is really only a complaint because I keep my camera in Legacy mode. Standard mode is just so garbage, though. My camera shouldn't spin with my character, and when I move backwards, I don't want to backpedal slowly. If only the camera was at a fixed position in Legacy mode, then it would be perfect.

I always tanked our titans until I needed a win for my bow and our Bard needed a win for his War and it took one or two runs to get used to and then i was fine. The only time I have encountered a bit of trouble as a dps is when he uses landslide right where were all standing and bombs are going to go off. Other than that no issues. I am a legacy movement believer though, went from getting hit by tons of AOEs tanking Coil t2 to getting hit by none.

I have my camera zoomed all the way out and my controls set to legacy, yet when I dodge certain attacks, I still get hit by them when I'm clearly outside of the danger zone by the time the attack goes off. So yeah, it's not always that simple.

Sometimes I have to reboot my router but that usually clears up my lag problems.

I dunno what issues everyone else seems to be having. Whenever I've been hit by landslide, it's almost always been because of my own error. I rarely get hit by them because of lag and even then it's because of my own connection failing me. Every other time, when I haven't messed up, I've been able to dodge just fine.

Results not typical? Perhaps. But the fact remains that nobody likes to feel stupid or admit their mistakes and "lag" is a convenient excuse for some people to use considering how it actually does affect others. (I'm not saying the lag doesn't exist, only that there are a large number of incompetent players using it as an excuse.)

Yeah, I've been in groups where someone in the party gets hit by landslide and automatically they bust out "Man I was totally out of that" when me and other people noticed that in fact they moved to late. With that said, I don't doubt some people have lag issues but people blaming the lag when they clearly messed up is getting out of hand.

You are not going to see the person move during a lag spike, or sometimes my fc people will see me run in place instead of actually moving out. The lag means that the servers aren't registering your movements, so the game is obviously not going to display those movements to the others playing the game.

But i'm not getting any lag spikes and I clearly see them trying to get out of the plumes are landslide or whatever. I see clearly that they are not out of the clear but low and behold, their first response was "man that lag sucks". I'm not saying it doesnt exist because I do see it but people are using it as an excuse when they do get hit way to often when it's actually not the case to save face.

This is irrelevant. You see what the game sees, the game isn't seeing these people moving because of the spike, so you won't see it either.

This. I don't know what to say but on my connection sometimes it's super smooth and other times well not. What do I do? I know the rotations and make sure I'm ready to move just before they start so I shave off that little bit of time between me seeing the animation and my body responding. On those nights I have to do that, I'll notice tons of people getting hit by landslide but when I look at their health bars they're fine. Then all of a sudden their character moves really fast out of the way. Can't see how it can be my connection cause I normally only notice this in dungeons. Not when I'm out doing normal fights out in maps like fates or chimera.
