Titan is hard because you have to rely on others to do their roles too much. One dd dies before heart, and it's extremely tough to take it out.
It's actually not just 0.3 sec, and it's not always ISPs. I appreciate the white knighting, but the game has issues with server-side delay. I ping about 100ms to the servers (and about 20ms to anywhere else, but what ya gonna do.) Yet I can be in a flat out run and get the full cast of a 1sec spell off. .1 + .3 = .4 yet it takes more than a full second for the server to tell my client "You can't cast that, you're running."
Pretty easy to test, and like I said, I can avoid Titan, I run him plenty and enjoy the fight, but the question isn't whether you -can- avoid it. It's how the animations, cast bars, etc sync up with the actual damage happening, and how your client reacts to things. Even with the 100ms ping (which should be a non-issue), if I switch to a melee class, and an NPC is running away from me you have to be on-top or infront of it to land an attack. Personally I can't wait for PVP because they won't really be able to ignore it then.
I can also give you answer for this. This server delay is not something new, it also exists in FF11. The resolution they provides when they try to adjust Ballista is by increasing increasing meele attack distance and weapon skill distance to cover up the server delay.

I would buy into the whole lag thing if not for the fact my party confirmed I was out of the area.
while in most fights i don't have the camera zoomed out super far, in Titan being able to see the entire arena makes it a lot easier- even if your latency is fine, if your camera is not zoomed out you're likely to unintentionally dodge out of one weight into another for instance.
How so? I never even paid attention to this setting (I don't even know what the difference is) and I've never had any issues dodging whatsoever. It's unfortunate that "Standard" mode is the default since it gives the player a significant handicap when it comes to movement.
The difference is this:
Standard - movement based on your character's position
Legacy - movement based on camera's position
So on standard setting, when you press S, you do that slow backpedal thing away from whatever you're facing. On legacy setting when you press S, you turn around and run at normal speed towards the camera.
By the same token, I've found the Titan fight to be much easier using a controller than it is using mouse/keyboard.
there is still a large amount of pre-move, which is not right. It's basically fighting the server, not the battle. The difference is this:

The worse part is learning to run into landslide during P5 bombs. You have to do it before he ends his animation. That's messed up. to willing run into something you know should be killing you, just because the server is not synced correctly with your client.
If you had Titan as your target you would see that landslide finishes casting before he slams the ground. If you are in said landslide before the cast is done, even if you run out of it before he hits, you will still be hit. People seem to think this is supposed to be an action game, it's not. There are delays, and they are set that way. I play in Germany on NA servers and I have yet to encounter any lag issues bar ones from my ISP. As I've seen in several other posts, for people who are lagging it is computer related, or ISP related (ask them about throttling). As for on topic, if you aren't zoomed out in Titan you are probably going to die. If you don't know that plumes spawn on people and that you should move to areas where people are not after plumes spawn under your feet, you are probably going to die. I have RARELY seen explicit cases of lag, but this was confirmed by the person to be an ISP issue which was fixed for him the next day.there is still a large amount of pre-move, which is not right.
