    And what other stat "increases the amount of HP recovered by spells" in there? Although it could be a bad phrasing issue, but it sounds like it also talks about HP you get back when you get healed.

    It is a bad phrasing issue. Determination for healing spells works like Mind. If a player has a ton of Determination, you won't heal him for more than you would anyone else.
