    There is always a chance, because there are other fish that swim with tuna schools for protection from predators. Though very slim. But back to the game there are spots where only one fish will bite at the bait you use on your line, with this you can target fish you want.

    So fishing IMO is fine, about the only changes I would like to see is a tackle box and more fish used in crafting.

    Compared to a real life situation if you were mining or harvesting it would be easy to see a carrot from a turnip or a lump of silver from gold. If you cast a line into a large body of water you can't see what the heck is out there or whether it will like your bait or not, they are fishes : D

    Lv 50 fisher here. Fishing is pretty much fine. All it needs really is more fish viable to the AH. In other words more stuff we can sell. Other than that, its completely fine.

    Well given that Fishing is intended to just be a by-time, not exactly something intended to impact anything (like how Mining/Botany does), I doubt we'll see such things anytime in the near future (as in probably not till 2015, possibly late 2014). Maybe if fishing somehow becomes really popular, Yoshi-P will change his philosophy on it, but I think he currently intends for it to be only done by a very small percentage of players, so of little impact.

    The only thing that needs to happen to fishing is to see where my line actually enters the water. That and maybe some agitation/splashing on the water's suface as I reel her in. Otherwise, it's just fine.

    This! I couldnt believe how bland the animations (or lack of) for fishing are. Was a major letdown.

    Well, it makes sense to have certain bait target certain fish.

    Not that I would make a certain bait 100% foolproof in nabbing a specific fish, you can't just pick what fish bites on your line the same as picking a fruit or mining for specific rocks, but it does have an effect in real world applications of fishing - so why not?

    They could even implement a tacklebox so you don't have 439458734250876 different kinds of bait in your inventory. I would find that acceptable.

    I mean, really, the tackle box should be the off hand tool with higher levels able to store better/more tackle/bait.

    Honestly, SE, you should run this crap past me before you run off halfassing stuff.
