Why unsub

I'm canceling my sub because I'm not going to be forced to tank or heal just to complete the main story. I like to dps and waiting 1-4 hours just to get on with the main story is bad game design. I love the game, but will not support it with my dollars to wait around.

I know some are going to say, get your guild to help, make friends , this is an mmo blah blah etc.

Bottle necking people in the main story is wrong if your not going to have your dungeon que system set up right. I've played many mmos, and the wait always happens, but not in this fashion. All story dungeons prior to 50 should be ran with npc characters, and not other players, or at least an option to go story with npc or players.

This is why I'm canceling my sub, other then this , I really enjoy the game.

DD here and I'm progressing just fine via Dungeons/Levequests/Hunting Logs etc ( Also if you prefer FATEs that that's an option too). Also Getting a party together and grinding away is a viable option as well getting 350-400 a kill at level 34 and the mobs day solo within 10 secs, in a party they will die in probably 3-4 secs. ( Also you get a linking bonus if you get additional mobs.)

Plenty of ways to level up besides Dungeons. As for the story issue, Make some friends, get into a FC ( Free Company) and ask for help <------ Best way to progress personally.

I see no problem with it. I go into a queue, I switch to another job and do something else whilst waiting. Doesn't usually take more than 30 mins to get in a party unless it's during dead hours of the night. But in the end compared to the 8 hours I used to wait in FFXI for playing the same job 30 mins is nothing. Actually it shouldn't even take that long to get in a party in such early stages of the game with more players than the server can handle. This isn't so much about not getting in a dungeon party to complete your class quest in almost instant-invite like a tank or healer, this more about FATEs giving so much xp that people spam those instead of dungeons so there's barely any available players for doing dungeons with.

I'm not really worried about the leveling up part, its the dungeon que system,,,i could grind all day and fate and level up, but i just want to get through the story, and the dungeons ques pause everything. Maybe its my server, Not sure.

The devs can't control what classes the players want to play, so it's your choice if you wanted to go DPS. You said you played other MMOs? You should have been expecting the wait.

However, I'd be open to having an option to run story dungeons with NPCs...if Yoshi-P and co. implemented a semi-intelligent AI. As it stands now, your "buddies" would most likely just get themselves killed fast.

It looks like 2.1 they are adding random dungeon queue. This will mean more high level players in those dungeons as they will award tomes (do not know how many yet) and they are also increasing exp in dungeons so they can compete with FATE. So if you hold out a little longer this will not be a problem.

It would not have to be to hard, its not like the drops or xp is really that good anyway early levels, it would be more like the small instance stories with the npc's.

Never wait, you should never just sit there waiting for DF to ding. I am sorry you are un-subbing, here is a few things to do while DF finds a group for you.

- Switch to a gathering class and do Levequests. I have started Botany and LOVE it! I highly recommend this as "waiting to party" option.

- Switch to your sub classes and do FATES to get cross class ability, I noticed you are THM, well ARC has Quelling Strikes at 34. it really helps with hate shedding

Its an MMO, enjoy your time, don't just wait on DF.
