I have to agree with the OP here. All too often I see the argument made that "people need to take their rose colored glasses off" which is making a rapid and ignorant assumption. I personally (using ffxi as an example) remember the 'bad' that came with the good and I was always completely comfortable with it. I mean, I restarted (new account) 4 different times in ffxi and running through all of it again. I have played just about every type of MMO there is, ffxi was not even the first one I played and it still strikes me as my favorite because I actually like what it did. This does not mean I am not open to other ideas, something I can't see coming from many around here.
