Using Orbweaver/Naga mouse or similar gaming devices?

    Hello,

I have been playing FFXIV only on gamepad so far and I LOVE it!
But I have been given a Orbweaver and a Naga mouse to test on FFXIV and I would like to know if others are currently using these or similar items because so far.... it's a bit of a mess...

I have no idea how to set up anything.
I tried to use the orbweaver thumb pad for movement and all the other keys for skill and I found that many keys are hard to press in fight so reverted to having the movement on the keys (like on a keyboard) but then you kind of lose the utility of using this rather than a full keypad...

On the mouse I have put all my healing spells and fairy skills (I am a SCH) and it seemed ok but I would maybe need macros because I am not used to mouse and especially not that kind...

So I wanted to know if anybody has some feedback, advice for Razer/Logitec/SteelSeries mouses and also small pads like orbweaver so I can optimize it for the game...

I currently use a Razer Naga and use the 1-12 buttons on the side instead of clicking on the hotbar. The mouse is setup to use the keypad 1-12 instead of the numpad and I have all my abilities on 3 hotbars. The second uses Ctrl and the third uses Shift as modifiers. It works really well for me and have been doing this for a few years now.

Logitec mouse is superior and costs less. It has a third button on the right side that functions as a CTRL or ALT. Naga does not have this. Don't waste your money.

In terms of setting things up... I didn't have to do anything at all. The mouse buttons are already set up to function as 1234567890-= buttons on the keyboard.

    Thanks

making three set is a good idea
Is there a way to visually see the icon in the same way they are on the mouse?
like the mouse have 4x3 (12) buttons and I would like to make 3 sets (normal, shift+ and ctrl+, like you)
but I don't want the skills to be in 1-10 order on the bar

x for skills and 0 empty
if I do like you, my skill bar will be like

    3-xxxxxxxxxxxx (shift)
    2-xxxxxxxxxxxx (alt)
    1-xxxxxxxxxxxx (normal)

    I would like
    normal / shift / alt
    4 -xxxoxxxoxxx
    3 -xxxoxxxoxxx
    2 -xxxoxxxoxxx
    1 -xxxoxxxoxxx

    Is that possible?
It seemed to mess up my keybinds...

Haha, I keep editing this post. I think there is a way to do that. I would have to actually try this in game myself to see if it does work.

    4 - 1 2 3 _ S1 S2 S3 _ A1 A2 A3
    3 - 4 5 6 _ S4 S5 S6 _ A4 A5 A6
    2 - 7 8 9 _ S7 S8 S9 _ A7 A8 A9
    1 - 0 - = _ S0 S- S= _ A0 A- A=

    Try that
