Hot Key Recommendations for SCH

I'm just learning about how to play as a Scholar and what that job can do that my White Mage can't. I know more thought has to go into playing a Scholar, I was hoping I could get some advice on how to set up my hotkeys. I don't manually control my faeries at all, and truthfully I didn't even realize I could. Like I said, I'm just starting at level 34, so any advice on the abilities I currently have would be really appreciated.

I don't know about recommending, but I have Place currently mapped to my M3. Many other users claim and I've noticed occasionally that the faeries seem to handle auto-casting and healing much better when told to sit somewhere rather than just following you during a battle.

Place and Heel are super important for getting the fairy where she needs to be, so I would put those somewhere you can hit them easily.

It might take some time till you can get used to controlling her manually but it is worth it and will hopefully be a lot easier to manage as they tweak the AI in future patches.

I set Aldo / Physick to a spot far away from the normally used keys (1-6), and then bind that specific key to Mouse 4 and Mouse 5. Helps out a lot because it frees up space for other abilties, and it is really easy to use. I also bind things to Shift or Ctrl + Mouse 4 and 5 as well. I have also bound Q and E in a similar fashion for my pet abilities. It's very confusing to use at first, and takes a lot of practice, but once you get it down you will find that it makes healing so much easier.

I read somewhere on here before that she heals faster on place because she skips the movement check. On normal mode, she will check to see if she needs to follow you before casting anything. If you move during her cast it won't interrupt it but she will prioritize following you over casting when she's in standby mode. By putting her on place, she forgoes the whole movement thing and goes straight to casting.

Once you'll reach farmable high-level content, you'll pretty much DPS all the time while spamming Embrace on the tank.

You really cant recommend speciffic buttons to other people becourse things like handsize, flexibility and available hardware matters a lot. (I for myself am a big fan of using ctrl+1-4 - sth most ppl dont do)

My preferences for the skills you got are:
-Embrace Whisper Aquo and Succor on my mouse thumbbuttons
-fairyplacement Alt 1 and 2
-physic on the basic 2
-Aetherflow and drain on ctrl 1+2

The skills you´ll get
-disspell on F
-Lustrate on the mouswheel
- bubble on R
- Swiftcast on C

The other skills are placed on the free buttons good to reach. eg Shift+1-4 ctrl+3 V,T,G,1,3,4,5
