Does it feel laggier after the recent update?

Is it just me or is the choppiness a lot worse after patch 1.17b? Before the patch, my game was playing pretty darn good and there was almost no choppiness in towns or the market wards. Now it's choppin' all over the place... It's even happening in the wards. And this was a rare thing for me before the patch.

Ok!! The problem is DEFINITELY this game! I tested out some other games (Super Street Fighter IV, Call of Duty - Black OPs, etc.) and they play just as good as they always did. XIV is the only game that is laggn' and choppin' like crazy. What the heck is going on here? Or is it just me? I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it along with all updates. NO DICE!!!!!

Make sure that your general drawing quality is at 8 or below. And that Ambient Occlusion is turned off.

Well, it seems to be an issue on my end... This isn't happening to anybody else as far as I know. Drawing has always been set to 8 and Ambient Occlusion has always been off. I didn't change anything. Hmm..... Well, I guess I'm screwed, lol.

There are still some memory leaks. Particularly if you leave the game running for extended periods of time (like when you bazaar while sleeping etc.) this can happen. If it happens when you first start up, wait about 30 seconds before touching anything, and see if that helps. At least on my system if the game is given a chance to cache everyone on screen, it handles the game better. If I don't give it that 30seconds, it can take up to half an hour for the lag / jittering to go away.

You should also try defragmenting your harddisk right after patching(if it's not an SSD at least).

I was having the same problem too I think that the patch to clean up bugs, made new bugs.
