I stand by my original comment. You chose to be the disruptive one. You decided to cast out decency and "troll". You are the problem.
So we're not allowed to poke fun at others for making silly requirements?
Well, I guess games aren't supposed to be fun anyway. (/sarcasm)
If your fun is predicated on ridiculing others, then no, not really.
The ass-hat who makes fun of someone putting together a relic+1 and (insert skill related concept here), is the same as the asshat who rags on someone's gear in duty finder, and both are the same as the person who can't enjoy the game by playing the goddamn game.
So you want me to stay quiet when I see something I think is not only inane but also damaging the community by intimidating and discouraging newcomers? Newsflash: the current endgame, if /shout in RT is any indication, is about as welcoming as finding a job out of college with no experience, so by the Twelve you had sure as hell better believe I'm going to drop a few sarcastic lines like: {Looking for members.} {The Howling Eye (Hard)} Must have blue eyes, blonde hair, white skin, and no disfiguring traits. Must have 4 years experience in JQuery.

When I was a newbie I didn't think twice when someone asked for a relic or specifically geared/experienced party. It didn't discourage me or make me not want to play. I understood that they had their own reasons to ask for what they were doing. Whether it was for a speed run, or just for epeen, it didn't really concern me. It was their party and they could do whatever they wanted to do. I know I don't speak for all people that were new, but that's my point of view. I knew I could always shout for my own party or do DF.
How about instead of being an ass, you start your own run. Be productive, not destructive. Your actions were much more damaging to the community by engendering hostility.
You weren't there to see the chat, how do you know there was hostility? (Although there's a good chance there was)
Not that obvious, since it's not always true. Clever trolling usually doesn't anger people - they usually won't realize they've been trolled until later, at which point any reasonable person would just laugh it off and move on. It's not confined to personal attacks.
Quantitative proof, please.
See how stupid, belittling and enflaming what I just asked you for sounds?
Not that much, actually. It's just that the perceived definition of 'trolling' seems to have changed while I wasn't looking from 'harmless baiting' to 'malicious attacks'.
