what to use as Ring 2 as War?

STR doesn't do anything useful unless you break through the Parry caps. Why haven't you bought the Hero Fending Ring? It's one of the best Myth per Stat you can get.

Though as far as Hoplite Vs. DPS Allagan, the difference is pretty neglible, so use whatever you want.

i just got +1 a few weeks ago, and been struggling to keep a coil group together so i am usually subbing for other FC till there pally is back and what not i have been debating on ether saving to get +1 on a dps i am lvling or starting to gear the war
