    Way too much lag

    Hi,

    I am currently on Diabolos server (I started playing yesterday). When I pinged the server, I got 45ms average, which should be more than acceptable. However, whenever I play, I see other players running in place then sliding to where he/she is suppose to be.

    This wouldn't be too much of a problem if it were simply graphical problem. However, I noticed that during combat, when a mob is targeting another player, and that player tried to kite the mob, the mob 'teleports' with the player. Even bigger problem, when I finally got threat from the mob (he targeted me), the mob was still following the player in question for good 10~15 seconds before actually hitting me.

    Is this a common problem? Should I switch server (as stated above, I have excellent ping with this server)? If it is a common problem, is square enix actively trying to fix the problem?

    We all hope that with each update, however no update SE can do other than open servers in new locations will fix this issue. The issue is with the ISP's that own the lines that connect up to SE's datacenter. The only way to fix this lag issue is for customers, and SE to work with ISP's to get them to either upgrade the crap segments, or to reroute traffic in a more efficient manner.

    I play on Brynhildr and live in south Florida I get frequent lag spikes that cause me to keep running after I have stoped, camera keeps turning after I have stopped moving it, skills not going off when pressing the button etc etc etc! I play on a well equipped pc and run the game on max. This didn't happen during beta or EA or even launch. It only started after a maintenance about 1.5 months ago. I hope this gets fixed asap as it sucks!

    might not want to keep spamming their web server (that's the old IP for www.eidos.com, and hosts about a dozen or so other sites for games in the eidos/SE game library).

    While it may be going through some of the same troubled hops used to get to your game server, diagnosing connectivity to the IP your game client is actually using would provide a more accurate picture. You can get that IP by running resmon or netstat while you are playing the game. The Canadian servers start with 199.
