that might e right but there are tons of small features that make things nicer, no matter if it might be jump or something else. There are several good things mentioned and people always answer " this won't save the game or they have bigger
things on their schedule". But without these smaller adds the game won't ever feel alive and so i think the many smaller things are not less important. The small details people can see (some just subtle but adding to immersion) make the mood.
The bigger changes coming up will just be a fundation for a change i think. A better battle system and 2 dungeons wont save the game either. Its the combo of the smaller and the bigger things that do.
This, a thousand times over. Nostalgia only goes so far, and I've noticed a lot of people around here are dominated by their nostalgia. The reason why I mention all of this is you look like you're stuck and it's understandable as to why. However, you have to expect these gaming companies to take a hint at what is catching on and what the new standards are in gaming. It's their business to do this. Not keep games in the bubble that is your nostalgia.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
