I been watching the ending cut scenes for both legacy and non-legacy, and was wonder why there's a slight difference. From what I understand for both cases the "PC" is a warrior of light but they made 2 different endings. I know legacy players are characters from 1.0 are "true Warriors of light," while new people are just adventures who have the echo and also pull off some of the same things 1.0 players did before them. I get that it also allows the scions and the GC leaders to remember the player from 5 years ago, and the thing they did to save Eorzea form the empire.


P.S. Would anyone be against allowing none legacy players to view the legacy alt ending in game ? I don't want to start forum flame war, or cause a rift between anyone. I am lore buff for most games and to me this seems a little lore breaking, I understand this is a "thank you" for people who played through the painful 1.0 FFXIV.

Careful with these terms. As far as I know, Legacy players are just people who fulfilled the requirements of the legacy campaign. You could create a character, never play it, never join a grand company, leave it at level one, and pay for 90 days... and get Legacy.

I think you're talking about the difference between someone who is a new character, someone who existed in Version 1.0 but didn't partake in the once-in-a-lifetime story (let's call them "meteor survivors"), and someone from 1.0 who took down the Lunar Transmitter and went on to fight at Cartenau. The NPCs in the game only refer to the last group as Warriors of Light because it was we who were unstuck in time by Louisoix and thus somehow wiped from memory. However, all of us are equally Hydaelyn's chosen.

I'm not entirely sure of the story differences yet, myself... and the terms get confusing.

Perhaps there's a difference between a Warrior of Light (erased from memory) and a sort of "Warrior of the Crystal?"

Your right about watching which term I use, but anyone who either got legacy from playing the campaign or just buying the 90 days playing time got the legacy "perks" for ARR. I could be completely wrong, but from what I ve seen in the videos there is very difference. Ill keep looking for more videos and info to help clear it up for myself, the "Warrior of light," and "Warrior of the Crystal" seem to fit better.

I think it's a nonexistent distinction that everyone is taking too seriously.

I did some research and I think this might deserve a new thread, actually. There have been a bunch of threads lately about confusion in these areas and it all links back to a bigger issue that I think would be nice to clear up all at once.
