Avarage item level requirements for Hard Modes

Although part of me welcomes this upcoming addition...the other has bitter memories of WoW telling him he's not allowed to play because he hasn't obtained the newest fashions yet. Didn't matter if you knew the fights inside and out to the point you could do it in your sleep, if you weren't wearing the hottest trending attire available to Azeroth, you're not allowed in that club.

There's a fine line between making content difficult by creating so called "gear checks" and difficult because it requires player skill and knowledge of the fight. Demon Wall, for example, will eventually kill you because of the moving, so if you don't burn him down fast enough, you *will* eventually lose no matter what. That's a gear check. Ifrit Hard Mode can be defeated with just one competent tank and healer (because I've done it). It'll take an eternity, but if you're good at the fight, you can overcome its challenge.
