Anyone can in about 3 days with leves and alittle money get crafts high enough to 100% hq almost everything. The sad part is they can get 3-4 crafts to cap without even crafting.

The supply greatly exceeds the demand on everything. Without rarity there can be no profit which defeats the purpose of leveling DOH/DOL to begin with. HQ items are selling for the same cost as NQ. IF you buy the mats on several items even HQs are selling at a loss. Example Mirror Apples 180gil each... hq apple juice 700gil.
A system without RNG DOES NOT WORK.
You should never be able to 100% hq using nq mats. Especially endgame stuff.

Also, don't take up for yourself just because you are making mass amounts of gil off of HQ goods and others while undercutting. THe point is, you would be surprised at the HQ's on the market atm, hell I'm surprised, to many on the market!
Why do people want crafting to be more tedious than it already is? To fake rarity into the market with even more chance that already enters in at the gathering level?
The casino element is quite present in the over melding and gathering area. If you make it "harder" to make HQ using proper method then you might as well just remove skills all together and we can all just sit around blindly clicking the mouse with our face in the keyboard blowing through stacks of mats until the HQ finally pops.
I miss the days of old where if you spent a summer leveling a craft class to cap, 100 of hours and ridiculously amount of in game money, you were set for the rest of your time on the mmo.
Endless money supply coming in.
Work turns into rewards. Atm there is no work with crafting and almost no reward as well. Even worse for gathering and I actually liked mining. Just no reason to do it anymore. Not mining for 50-100gil per hq ore.
Old School MMOs geting a DR. degree and making millions, New Age MMO everyone working a minimum wage job.
