RNG is not difficulty; RNG is only frustration.
I got more than my fill of RNG in character progression to last my entire life when playing TERA, thank you.
Can I like this post 20 more times? I don't think the FFXI players understand it yet.
If you get two or three crafting classes to 50, along with the rest to at least 15 to get all the necessary skills to easily HQ items, your character should be "skilled enough" to "easily" HQ things. Of course a level 15 robe should be piss easy for a Grandmaster (level 50) Weaver! A two star robe should be pretty simple for a Weaver who also is a Grandmaster in Carpentry, Alchemy, and Goldsmithing!
And to say the market is "flooded" with HQ is false. Maybe if you only focus on the high level gear, but when I go looking for HQ crafting tools, chances are maybe one being sold for 10x the NQ. And this is on a Legacy server, no less. The demand is there, you just refuse to look for it.
This is one of those cases where the vocal minority can screw everything up for the majority.
So what if it is easy to HQ gear once you max a couple professions to max. I put a lot of time into raising my professions and I enjoy being able to HQ the gear for my dps classes when I get to the level required. It's already bad enough when mining the max base % of HQ is 15% chance and we don't need that involved with the crafting portion.

I think the real issue is they have made it too easy/quick to level the Crafting Jobs. Specifically the fact that you can just buy HQ's for the "Triple Turn In Leves". I personally do not believe players should be rewarded with a 200% Bonus for buying their HQ turn-ins.
I think it should be a little harder to level the Crafts and players should have to craft their own HQ's for Leves and Guilld Quests. (Buying HQ mats is ok, just the finished item should be self-made imho.)
Here's a post I made about it which got mixed reviews: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Made-HQ-Items.
Papa was a rolling stone...wherever he laid his barbut was home.
Selling those HQ's is a very simple way for crafters to make money. OH, but there's no money in crafting, right? Silly me.
I just wish people would set the prices for HQ higher than NQ, hate seeing NQ items the same price as HQ, HQ at least you have to sit there and put some sort of effort as opposed to faceroll quick synth.
Yes you can 100% HQ anything. But not just anyone with all crafts at 50 from leve can do it. You need a decent ammount of triple and quad melds. That is all RNG. Anything lvl 55 or less you can do without.
The amount of QQ is RIDONCULOUS!

I would even say it's RIDONHQULOUS!
Anyone? Anyone?
HQing is a lot easier now, but I'm still making a good chunk of gil just form mid-level/upper-level HQ pre-endgame equipment. Certain stuff sells for 15k+ on my server.
Anyway, I *really* hope 2.1 housing items will make crafting more challenging, useful, and lucrative. I wonder if there will be HQ furniture, and how that would work????? o.o
