Well when the whole server blacklists you and cant stand you, and apparently has no problem saying it to you, you can tell us the proper reaction or behavior that creates in an individual.

Its touching. Sadly this community is going the same way, just a week after release and its, 'god, newbs' and 'skip cutscenes!' for first timers. Now you can't move in Mor Dhona without hearing, "LF X class, must have Y gear and experience!" Heck people are leaving DF, (Where you dont get to pick your party) because some other players are not in full DL.

Its uncommon to see someone giving a chance to somebody new anymore.

Yea same on our Server to, if you ask me the game gets what its deserve.
I wouldnt wonder if most normal players leave soon because endgame and its Community is to freaky and after doing once all quest you have nothing more than a pure Asiagrinder Game (where grinding dont makes real fun). Not realy that what most western players can enjoy.^^

    Please, let's be honest.

First of all, going all BAWW publicly is something that kinda guarantees forgiveness and, most of all, attention.
It's not that different from trash TV shows where people go and cry so others can pity them and feel better with themselves for apparently being "sensible people".

"Hey, this moves my feelings, I am clearly a sensible person, now I can judge people who are not as sensible as me of being dicks".

I am not saying this is your case, mind you - I'm just saying that while it's easy to talk bad about someone privately, doing so in public is much harder to do. The easy thing to do in public is to be kind, gentle and understanding because that's how society is, ALWAYS, not only in MMOs.

Secondly, many people playing this game (and any other game) have limited playtime. Many people have jobs, families, or other things to do.
If they want to run a raid or a dungeon in a short amount of time because they don't have the time to wipe 20 times, it does not mean they are bullies or hardcore. It simply means that they want to play properly in the little free time they have.
I can talk for myself here: i have very little time to play during the evenings, so little that I can barely manage to cap my Myth stones each week (usually I finish on Sunday nights). If I had to deal with 2h WP runs, I wouldn't be able to do that; I would not enjoy the game since I won't be able to explore all the content I paid for, if I don't improve my gear (as gear is still quite relevant in this game, sadly).

I would love to stand and shout in Limsa offering my help to newcomers - if only I had the time. But honestly, I am paying for this game with my money and I would like to proritize my enjoyment before other's.

I believe that anyone saying otherwise is just being hypocritical.

Terribly terribly sad, right in the feels. In the midst of all the crap going on in game its easy to loose sight of the fact that there are actual people behind those charachters.

When I was a kid, bullies would beat kids up and take their lunch money. There was no getting around it. If they cornered you, you fought or you layed down and took a beating. Either way, there was a beating coming. Online bullying is a joke. If people are being mean to you, log out. It's that simple. It's hard to feel bad for someone who keeps willingly going back for more. The guy is the linked article in the OP could have quit WoW and spent his time elsewhere, but he chose to stay. Whatever happened after that was on him.

Why should he be allowed to bring down every team that he joins? People these days are so selfish. They think they should be allowed to do anything the want regardless of how it effects others. When you join a team, you have a responsibility to that team. If you let the team down, of course they're not going to invite you back. If you keep going back anyways, of course they're going to talk trash. That guy couldn't improve no matter what he tried, but he refused to stop joining teams. He was the problem, not them.

From the little info that was actually in that post, it sounded to me like the vast majority of people were unwilling to help him. I totally believe it, I quit WoW after my 30 day trial was up back in the day for that very same reason. I see the very same thing in the community here. The difference is here that I'm ahead of the power curve due to my time spent in 1.0. I run my LS/FC as the anti-thesis to such elitist groups and have been quite successful in doing so.

This is why I'm wondering on the ilevel 496 thing. If he really was full raid geared AND as bad at the game as he seems to think he is, then he probably wore out any good graces/offers of help while getting carried to a full set of raid gear.

I'm okay with people that don't pick up things as fast as others in MMOs. But if it takes you twice as long to pick up something as the other guy, then understand that you're going to have to spend twice as long on it trying to pick it up.

His lack of ability is not worthy of being berated though. Neither did I state everyone had to play with him. You and others say that people who aren't good at the game should just quit. Well why should you be allowed to make that call? If he still wants to play he is entitled to.
