AV is the most difficult dungeon before coil

It is.I honestly wonder if it's even doable as SCH.
Also, I was on fruit duty. I would take fruits for the entire party - meaning 1 fruit. There was 10 fruits around me, just had to pick one.

Yeah, as everyone was saying, bringing a ton of AoE for that last boss is almost essential. That being said, I have never successfully completed that one in a pug, only by bring 2 dps and a healer from my FC was I able to actually do it. It's not an easy dungeon.
The last boss in the dungeon can be a pain so, as others have pointed out, try go for a AoE heavy party. I think this fight is where a Warrior can really outshine a paladin with berserk/over power spam on the seeds. Every little bit helps. Also for a quick note, if any of the seedling hatch tell the other members before the fight NOT to run away with them on them. Simply group up and AoE them down.
I tried this personally on a MNK and while MNK has AoE, I had trouble. I switched over to WAR and ran with a good AoE party and he went down first shot.
I actually managed to get Sunken Temple down my very first time. 1 minute remaining! It is one of my most favourite dungeons now, love that last boss!
Only thing hard about Sunken Temple is asshats who leave after they finish their GC huntinng log, along with the dungeon's rep which means no one joins an in progress. I ran Aurum Vale 20-30 times, mostly through DF, and only failed a handfull. Mind you the majority of those times (levels 47-49 unrested XP's worth, give or take) i was BLM so the last boss was usually a non-issue. Oh and i only got the pet last week as a +1 relic blm when we ran it almost by accident when a whm neither of us knew started complaining about failling it again in say while a tank buddy and i were goofing off on alt classes at the costa teleport thingy and we ninja invited her and did it.
May your innards remain so
No offense intended but just because IGN says it does not make it fact, they are definately missing parts.http://www.ign.com/wikis/final-fanta...A_Relic_Reborn
This link shows otherwise. You have to complete AV once to unlock the quest to gain access to Amdapor Keep.
To top that off I had been doing AK for a while (after completing the GC Darkhold quest before I even set food into Aurum Veil.
As far as difficulty. I can definately see where it can be a pain as it requires planning an communication to complete (use the fruits at the right times, etc).
When AV was first unlocked for me I cleared it 5 or 6 times, just for fun, as SMN without too much trouble. DOT the seeds at the last boss and have the melees speedkill any that pop. SMN should switch off the boss to backup healing while this goes on. When all the adds are down, go back to the boss. Meteor limit on the third batch. the trick is not to get in a hurry or panic. Just slow, steady, and adaptable. Keep everyone alive and you can't fail.
Then when they changed the reqs. for the GC quest, I failed 7 runs in a row trying to get it done again. Every one timed out on the last boss, usually because we'd wipe 4 or 5 times on Coin Counter and take too long.
From the fields of Planet Ragol and Vanadiel, conquering one new world at a time. Family transcending borders 2000-2014 and on - The Deneb 4 Crew / Knights of Deneb forever!

Prior to 2.05, you could do DD instead of AV provided you promoted early enough in your GC. If you didn't, then you screwed up and had to do AV.http://www.ign.com/wikis/final-fanta...A_Relic_Reborn

Now, I'm not sure what the case is. It's possible that you have to do AV no matter how early you promoted.

Aurum Vale isn't even as hard as it was before.
