Please "rotate" the Emergency Maintenances (unable to play)

I dont see them being able to rotate it reliably. But in a standard 8 hour shift they could swing it a little. Now everyone in that 8 hour shift time block will have to share the downtime but they could take it down for 4 hours at the start for say 4 weeks and then the end for 4 weeks. That is probably the best to hope for. They may also need to move the days by 1 as well but that is the solution I would strive for.

This is starting to border on the dead horse side of things at this point. Just let them do the maintenance so that we can all have issues resolved and keep playing. Why worry about when it happens or if it cuts certain playtime off. What's the rush?

They have a business schedule, we happen to fall in that dead zone of maintenance. Someone's going to get caught in it, I guess it's just a "me" thing if we're going to come whinging everytime maintenance comes around, yet everyone continues to talk about bugs and content and whatever-else-people-aren't-satisfied-with-most-of-the-time.

C'mon, man...

It's a recurring issue because it's a huge problem that thousands are upset about it, forums are a vocal minority but if more people actually bothered with the forums, you would see more of these threads on a daily basis.

They have changed the emergency maintenance hours once already, I don't see why they can't change them again but this time instead of putting it on a permanent shift they could actually rotate them so not everyone is affected.

Like I said, I understand the concept of a maintenance, I have played MMO's since 2001 and not once have I complained as most companies only do them once a week or actually do them at different times so the same region isn't always caught straight after work hours... Square seems to think it's fine to bash the same region every 2-3 days, this is not fair and for a subscription based model they should really care about customers affected by this.

I'm not asking them to completely change it, I'm not even complaining about the idea of a maintenance, I just want them to think about those that are always screwed by this on a daily basis.

Rotate them so everyone gets a little downtime, not just Oceanic and Nightshift players.

So let me get this straight. You can only play in a 3 hour block, once a week, and SE is watching your house to make sure they drop shutdowns riiiight when you get home?

I played WoW for years, they had an 8 hour shutdown every wednesday, from 3pm to 11pm. Since i was getting home from TAFE at 4pm, i was unable to play for that entire day. Know what i did? i sucked it up and played something else.

When a company picks a day/time they will normally stick with it, some people be damned.

They do it when the least amount of players are on per their number crunching. They don't care if it's when you play or not.

Though I hear what you are saying, I'm glad it is minimal and not constant couple of hours thing over a few days.

To be honest, i don't want them to rotate the maintenance at all, they fall perfectly into my play time :P but i can appreciate the fact that they -should- rotate the maintenance so it doesn't always hit one section of their player base.

However, more than anything.. i want them to fix the game, and the servers, so that they don't have to do an "emergency" maintenance every two days.

You haven't got this "Straight" like I said in my opening post there has been 13+ maintenance this month alone, these are recurring every 2-3 days (not once a week) and they cut soon as most of us are finishing work, meaning we can't play at all for the day.

I even said, if they did these once a week I wouldn't have a problem with it.. but because they are "emergency" they do them every 2-3 days, all I'm asking for is a rotation so the same region isn't screwed every time.

When I wake up most of the time the maintenance is done already. However, I agree with you. This should be distributed evenly so everyone has to deal/not deal with it sometime. Wouldn't be fair if the same group has to deal with it the entire time.
And for those tell them to suck it up. You pay the exact same amount of money while they have less playtime.
