    Unknown cause of lag

I am running the game on a intel i3 with intel hd 3000 and 8gb of ram. I can run other mmos such as swtor and games like Skyrim and mass effect fine. But this lag makes it almost unplayable. Unless I am looking straight down at my avatar I only move by stuttering through lag, and only in certain directions at different times. It's not making too much sense. I play on wifi, but even direct connection doesn't change it. And I am the only one using the internet when I play.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening or how to fix it would be great, thank you

I get on average between 17-23 fps when it's running fine. But when it starts lagging cuts down to 4-9. Just not sure what is causing it to drop down so far

I used to play with an HD 4000 and had to disable some of the effects to reach 30FPS in town.
Also the drivers may not be optimized for the game.

Is it a laptop version of the card?

If it is that is most likely your reason. The Integrated Intel HD cards kind of suck. The 3000 when inside a laptop will have issues with most high end games. These cards will play a lot of games but usually on the lowest to mid settings still with some fps loss. The real issue you have to worry about with Intel HD integraded graphics is heat. Even if the it can run the game fine with its current settings, heat could be the reason for the FPS drop.

Are you running TuneUp Utilities? or anything else with a similar "active performance booster"? I was getting some massive lag last week, apparently things like live optimization count FFXIV as a background process, and auto drops the system priority for it in the task manager.

it is in a laptop. I have yet to encounter a heat issue with other games, because it does get rather hot. but that may be the case, because i have noticed it progressively gets worse. thank you
