I also was convinced you get an extra 30% chance to crit for a long time. But read the tooltip correctly, it says: Increases critical hit rate by 30%. Duration 15s.

Crit hit rate, not critical chance % >_<. If you have 430 crit hit rate.. with an extra 30% it increases to 559. If you have a idk 12% chance to crit, it increases to idk 18 to 22% maybe

You can have a secure crit as Dragoon often with life surge. And you do not crit so often with Internal release to make it for an extra 30% chance.

Crit hit rate = Crit chance.

Wrong. Crit HIT rate =/= Crit chance

    This should be helpful http://valk.dancing-mad.com/?page_id=202

Oh wow, this is the first MMO that I've played that crit hit rate and chance is different. or maybe the term is just too confusing

    Edit:
On another note, I tried using the simulator in the link, and checked Internal Release and pressed Calculate, and it does increase Critical Hit Chance.

Internal Release description is Increase Critical Hit Rate by 20% and going by the link you've posted, it does increase the Critical Hit Chance, so Critical Hit Rate = Critical Hit Chance.

It does increase the chance but not by a flat rate of 20%. Try it again. All it does is increase your crit hit rate by 20% and give you the corresponding crit chance.

e.g. at 341 crit hit rate (default in calculator) = 5.15% crit hit chance
at 341 with 20% IR ticked = 9.87% crit hit chance
at 409 (=341x1.2) without IR ticked = 9.86% crit hit chance

Well, with what you've said, then it's definitely crit chance = rate.

Anyhow, I won't bothered anymore, I'm only basing my assumptions from the simulator the dude from other page provided.

are you lost or am I misunderstanding you?

The argument from above posters in this thread says either: 1) IR gives a flat 20% increase to hit chance; or 2) gives 20% increase to hit rate which doesn't correlate to 20% hit chance.

No one said it doesn't increase hit chance whatsoever.

What the simulator confirms is that IR =/= flat 20% increase to hit chance.
