SMN in Qarn

I've been leveling ACN as a second class. I'm a firm believer in leveling on dungeon grinding but most of my focus has been in learning how to play SCH. Last night I had a great opportunity to play my SMN with some friends and we decided to do Temple. The other dps was also a SMN. We literally burned through the whole dungeon. I was very impressed with our dps.

That is until we had to kill the mithril verges in the last boss fight.

We literally could not dps any of the verges fast enough before they aoe and timed out. We finished but it was slow, painful, and entirely because of our great tank and healer.

Any advice on how to effectively dps the verges on this fight would be appreciated.

Well I only dps the ones who do some lazer aoe... I ignore the others.

Make sure you're controlling your pet to attack it.

Bio->Ruin spam.

It is annoying, you can also go point blank bio, then mash click on it for like 1 or 2 auto attacks for free before you spam ruin or energy drain it.

Maybe you guys didn't have pets attack them also, they where just on the boss?

Depends on what you were doing. Assuming you didn't enter the black square that locks everyone else out, you were arguably doing it wrong; the Verges have a massive damage reduction buff until they lock someone in.

Personally, I can't recall having many issues. I put up the three primary DoTs, Fester'd and they died. Maybe poor weapons are to blame? :/

I didn't have my pet attack them. I think it had died too quickly and I had used swiftcast rezing someone. Probably controlling it more would help keep it alive. Maybe if I use emerald carby for ranged dps? I'll have to make better use of the dots too.

I was using the pink level 35 book that dropped from a coffer there and full set from brayflox. My other accessories were max level I could equip. I think I'm just really clueless on how to maximize my dps for more burst damage. I assume this will be the same concept I learn here that can be applied to ifrit when killing the adds quickly.

Well smn's only burst is by doing
Bio2>Miasma>Bio(wait a sec to make sure bio is registered)>Fester. As you can see it takes time to set it up. If it's not dead spam ruin.

When I did Qarn I had enough time to Bio2, bio, Miasma, then Fester. It was close but do able.

Side note did Temple on my monk yesterday and it was so much easier then I remember on my smn.
