People usually simply find it more productive to work with and focus on what they've got than participate in the discussions of what ifs. It's the same deal when someone comes in and talk about how they'd like to see egis reworked for summoners, they get shot down right away because there's very little merit to discussing these ideas in the scope of improving summoner play.

As for apopotosis though, from what I've been told it works on more things than its description implies, including abilities such as death sentence. I don't main BLM though so maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm.

You got your shield, what are you whining about? If it's a worthwhile issue, it gets changed. Just like you got your shield. Just like the boots got changed. Freeze and Apocatastasis are on the same level of egis, nobody cares.

Just to specify, it's highly unlikely they added in the shield just because you cried about it. They most definitely already intended to have it in the game (the shield was already in the game files) but had to delay its implementation until 2.1 for whatever reason. Considering how few people were to get the weapon prior to 2.1 it was never a pressing issue.

There weren't/aren't many people farming twintania, and but a fraction of the BLM's doing it have actually gotten their weapon pre-2.1 when this was an issue. It's hard to garner support for something when so few people are actually affected by it. You would practically need to the have the stars align just to get those few on the same page, and even if it did happen, the voice would be so small that it would go unnoticed anyway.

It would've been a completely different story if the relic was 1 handed as well, tons more people would have spoken up about it. It just wasn't a far reaching issue, so it never got any real backing to it.

In any case this debate is over, my questions was aimed at fellow BLMs, not another person who cares only about his needs & wants. If it was the SMN book being torn in half, one exist and the other don't you would be flipping tables. It is all matter of perspective I guess like I have always said, never was your problem, why would you care?

I had made a thread shortly before you did and it got no response so I was under the impression they very much knew about the shield and were going to fix it one way or the other.

About Freeze/Apocatastasis; our AoE is already the best in the game, I see no reason to improve on it, and unless they massively buffed Freeze there was no way to improve on it - in 2.1, they nerfed Blizzard II and buffed Freeze and we STILL don't use Freeze. Apocatastasis could use more usage, sure, but I bet in further patches they'll improve it or give us situations where it can really have a lot of use.

I'm kind of in the camp where I'll take what the developers give us and roll with it, and that'd be doing the best I can with a class, maximizing its potential, and if I don't like it, go to a stronger class.

This is what I'm trying to say. I completely agree, it was not about the damage or AoE. We never needed/wanted Freeze to get a damage increase, from my point of view it needed to behave exactly as the tool tip suggest. If we were able to send a message across to SE that we are a looking for mechanic change not a damage increase we may have gained a useful ice spell instead of what we have at the moment.

All of us work with what we have available, it is just beneficial to provide feedback and voice our opinions on what we want in a very modest balanced tone. My intentions were always to provide "feedback" but the feedback is ignored completely if it does not receive any backing form the BLM community.

Never was about a buff or a nerf, weakness or strength, always just about feedback to turn something from useless to useful, instead from useless to useless.

I fully believe that many classes have poor skills that likely have very, very limited usefulness. These skills, when level caps get raised, will be further pushed into oblivion and we won't care about them. Square Enix more than likely assumes this is the case. It's not great, or even good, game design to have a few skills that time has been put into be used so little.

But yeah, it's just human nature really. Same reason people wait to go to a doctor for medical issues, it's not enough of an inconvenience for them to go out of their way to get things resolved right away. So, they wait until their spleen is about to rupture then see the doctor, even though their side has been hurting for the last 3 months.

Anyway, Apocatastasis needs to be changed. It's so bad. I've found some use in freeze, but I've only used apocatastasis twice, and one of those was purely on accident.
