I think it is absolutely hilarious when people think BLM is boring and as such, easy lol. I don't think any class is inherently easy... if that were the case, every person would be maxing out their DPS without much effort. I personally think that DRG is 10x easier than BLM.
I think many who don't spend much time with BLM assume that the gameplay experience changes little from what they endured while grinding for Swiftcast; they don't appreciate that it takes a bit of strategizing as well as a moderate twitch ability to push consistently good DPS on BLM. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I run into a skilled BLM in DF and pretty much expect them to be mediocre at best until proven otherwise.I think it is absolutely hilarious when people think BLM is boring and as such, easy lol. Turn 11, Best BLM fight to see your skills imho.
Lol so true. So many large, fast-casting, inconveniently-placed AoEs.
T11, though, is great practice for BLMs to learn the importance of planning their actions several steps ahead. The fight is really easy on BLM after you get the hang of it, but during progression when most players are in panic/reaction mode due to not having the fight memorized, the Nerve Gas cones and missile combos can play havoc with their DPS.
Yes BLM is awkward in regards to moving, but please will some of you cool it with the "omg I'm a BLM and you guys have no idea how hard it is" emo BS.
Yes it isnt as straightforward as F3 F1 spam B3 rinse and repeat, and fights require you to time things right but it really isnt as bad as some of you make out to be. And from what -i've seen, some of the whiners use scathe (because their mobility skills were non-existent) in AF, which is kinda joke when you consider the preaching they do on here.
I always assumed scathe was a dps loss over not doing anything if it meant you clipped the mana for a T3 or Fire.
BLM is pretty easy guys. No oGCD juggling, one cooldown (two if you count swiftcast, but thats more of an emergency button) and high survivability, and ranged.
The actual problem, imo, of BLM, is that the margin of difference between the "okay" players and the "really really good" players is fight specific and not class specific, meaning the skill floor for this class is pretty high, the rest is just learning the encounters. Meanwhile combo based classes...
That said I really enjoy BLM a lot (similarly, Bard). Because the other classes are just rotational monsters with static built in rotations that are complex but similarly just as boring.
Whomp whomp.

Yeah I agree panda, afaik scathe is a DPS loss.
I'm pretty sure that the "BLM isn't as simple as it looks" discussion was started in response to people suggesting that it was actually that simple, not by anyone whining about the difficulty of learning fights as BLM.Yes BLM is awkward in regards to moving, but please will some of you cool it with the "omg I'm a BLM and you guys have no idea how hard it is" emo BS.
