Saying you are not going to vote for tanks, regardless of whether or not they use the "in progress" option, isn't that an abuse of the system in itself? If the tank did better than the rest and guided everyone safely, yet you don't vote for him/her just because s/he is a tank? I don't think you should be commenting on other people's "functioning brain" with the decision you just made.
Also, to those that are saying things like, "well this might encourage some to work hard and pay attention during runs, only to not get MVP at the end." Ummm, shouldn't you be working hard anyway? If it takes MVP points to make someone try their best, then that person doesn't deserve anything, you should TRY HARD EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you're too tired to try hard or are sick of doing the same run over and over to the point where you don't try hard, then maybe it's time to log out and do something else. The rest of the party shouldn't have to put up with you being useless just because you know that others will pick up the slack for you.
What we need is a player rating system, if you don't do a good job, you get special points. Once you have enough of these special points, you should then be forced to move into "Special" servers where they move all the useless bums into so the rest of us don't have to ever play with them, which of course means that they should have their own instanced raids, so they don't ever mix them up with us again, under any conditions. Or just add a "Play With Legacy Only" option for all Legacy characters in the Duty Finder menu, that should make all the runs go over much more smoother with people who are more likely to try hard and actually understand their roles in the party. Also, Legacy servers should be legacy only and people who want to transfer to a legacy server should have the entire storyline complete and be required to have a minimum of 3 LVL50 battle jobs, but I guess it's too late to do that.![]()
