As long as the equipment is purely for vanity's sake, it doesn't sound too bad. Though in all honesty, just the fact that Squeenix thinks you need more than the good feeling of being nominated MVP makes me wonder what they think of us as players.![]()

Hopefully getting mvp points is as glorified as getting xp points.

This idea is the worst thing that could ever happen to Final Fantasy XIV.
I hate when Yoshida states he wants to improve the filtering of missions so players can find other players in the same needs and ways of playing, but in the other hand the MVP is here to f*ck up absolutely everything.
First thing, this will create a large amount of discord and flaming due to who gets the MVP and who doesn't, that's the LAST THING this game needs right now.
Second thing, if the player is actually awarded for beeing MVP he'll just go show is ass off. I play as a healer, and i never except to get this MVP shit. I never let someone die and i never get bad feedback on my work, but that doesn't mean i ever get a good one "thanks" or "good job".
I totally find this MVP thing useless and even dangerous for the game, Yoshida should totally abandon that project and let the game be as it is, we don't need anything WoW-like in a cooperative game, every single player in a party has in key-rôle in a dungeon.

In other games forums the MVP, was really the suck up that was the goody goody that didn't contribute at all really and instead was a lacky snitch to the mods. It really wasn't anybody who was a public figure, only newer players looked up to them because they were different. And MVP was always the "follow the rules guys" type of person.
Screw that rules are meant to be broken.
I nominate GoldCEO for MVP, for his actions in determining flaws in the current system.
