I remember that post, and it made sense, in the case where there is only one MIP per dungeon.

I must have missed the official comment that explained that there would be one single player per dungeon getting one MIP point per dungeon max, because the comment quoted in the OP as I understand it, means youget points everytime someone votes for you (in which case, the loophole you were describing doesn't apply).
I would be gratefull if someone could link the official comment explaining this.

yeah. I've been asking for a few days now for a source that there will be only one MVP per group, and never got one, but was yelled at and called 'ignorant' instead because I read it the same way you did.
