    While it is like it in the offline series - Think for a second..It's just what MMORPGs does these days in terms of quest based progression. They add so much filler trash quests in between the actual story bits that it ends up boring you or throwing you off the flow very quickly.

    In "every final fantasy game" I'm usually on a path for the storyline or diverge into side quests relating to particular (relevant) NPC or the world, never was really told by an NPC they'll give me information on Kefka if I slay 5 goblins (by numerous NPCs in various towns) and bring back 2 ice elemental cores. So while yes they exists in all RPGs, they're never forced onto you and completely detached from the main story or even back story like they are in MMOs.

    They wanted to have a 'quest' way to go from 1 to 50. They choose the story line.
    Unfortunately, they could not come up with enough real story to make all 1-50 interesting / exciting, and filled it with lots of 'filler' (what I would describe as lovely side-quest stories, but should not be part of the main story line).

    Still, pretty good overall and worth doing ^.^

    Well, once you're done with the MS you'll wander around and then realize it was the highlight of the game in the first place.

    If they increased the amount of money and exp gained from killing monsters they could remove some of the tedious quests and open the door to more rewarding leveling of sub classes. Also they could increase the difficulty of some areas, add rare spawns and drops and encourage the use of forming exp parties to clear and tackle these areas rather than the fate grind system which they should decrease the exp on and increase the seals for.

    Nothing about it is mandatory. You can level a character 1 - 50 in 2 to 3 days of doing Fates . . . no need to do things if you do not like to do them

    Actually it is mandatory if you want to do any of the post-story content. You can't get a relic weapon or do Binding Coil without having beaten the main story. There's really no point in level 50 if you can't do anything as a level 50.

    I think the most irritating was right before the Titan fight. "You want to fight a giant rock man? First, show us your culinary skills." A close second being the people in Coerthas. I didn't get much of that, since by about halfway through it I got tired of it just starting skipping through the dialogue without reading anything. I really don't like that place. No wonder nobody's happy up there, everyone's ass is frozen shut.
