It's a requirement for most groups that run coil. It's not a requirement for coil. There's a difference.

Yeah I know that, but there's a huge difference between coordinating via chat or doing it via voice. Especially where one mess up will down the whole party. It seems so very vital for the turns to ensure with utmost certainty a good run. BG used it and called out movements during twister. How would you manage that with chatting when the cast time was so quick?

Find a new group.

You can't expect a pug or new FC to know how well you play without it if you've never done it with them before. Some people really do need to be told when to do what over voice because they aren't paying attention to everything going on (ie passing the rot).

If you're trying to get SE to add voice chat in game, they probably think it's a waste of resources for the very small minority of people that would actually use it. Come out and say what you want directly without beating around the bush, or necro an old thread about it

Why not just mark the targets that need to be taken down? Whatever else is there? Avoid stuff?

I personally don't see the need of VC if you already know the pattern of coil.

I think the op's point was if people feel this is needed to perform well in dungeons it should be an added feature for in game chat. Or was I mistaken?

You aren't especially for people on consoles. I think it's a bit short sighted to assume we all have access to work arounds. Telling someone if they don't have said work around it 'a your fault is not a solution to the problem.

I agree. Personally, if I had a laptop I would be playing this game on that instead of ps3. My desktop isnt anywhere near my ps3, either. Plus the fact, not everyone has a droid or iphone. I have skype on my phone, but mumble/vent/teamspeak aren't compatible with my current windows phone. I have no intention of upgrading my phone, or buying a tablet just for this game. So I'm sol unless I pug it, which isn't ideal but it's better than not doing it at all.

You don't need voice chat if you know how to do it and you learn to do it by just doing it. Cast times? Be awake and focus target. Mob priority? Signs. Allagan Rot rotation? Signs.
Silencing? Macros. What else...
