One way people are working around that is to change the last digit of the selling price.(NQ:2000, +1:2001, +2:2002, +3:2003)
Yea, would be nice to just have it shown & not have to do all that, but somethin' to look for if anyone didn't know about it.
Less ward crashes, more organization and more of an actual "market feel" are some things I would like to see as far as the market wards go. The wards weren't a bad idea I don't think, my largest gripe with them is that 200 NPCs that stand there, doing and saying nothing in a very, very small room doesn't feel at all like a market to me.Rest assured that the team is in the process on stabilizing and improving the current retainer system. Something that I want everyone to keep in mind is that even if we simply changed the current system over to an auction house, that doesn’t mean it would solve all of our problems overnight. There are more things that would still need to be adjusted if that were to happen. As such we aren't currently planning on switching over to an auction house system as of yet.
oh man that's a great idea, I'm gonna spread the word
It would be nice because in the busy merchandise it creates an unnecessary clutter of useless posts.
For example, everyone and their brother having a price war over Crab Bow NQ +1 and +2 completely bumps the +3 off the screen which is what everyone is making Crab Bow for to begin with - it's a good player-made system, but in some scenarios is a huge hindrance to the process it's trying to serve.
I've already explained how they could implement a Market UI in a central location, keep the market wards and the features that retainers offer.i think its fine that they want to keep and improve retainers
but i have to see anyone answer the one big question
what would actually happen if this game grew to 500,000+ players, at least half using those retainers..... would you just keep adding more and more wards?
an AH UI itself seems to be so much easier for a developer to manipulate than having to deal with market wards from the very start!
Market Wards Stay intact. When you visit your retainer in any place they offer you a search interface. In the search interface you can search for a specific item. It populates a list of the cheapest 10-20 on sale with the retainers name listed and the price. You click on the one you want to buy, it brings up the list of inventory for that retainer so you can have the option of window shopping. You pick out the item you want to buy and instantly buy it. Then depending on where the item is.
A. You are given it directly if its in the same city.
B. You are given the choice to have it delivered to your retainer over Time for free (1 hour wait) if its in another city.
C. You can pay to have a delivery expedited (Cost a tax).
Afterwards you pick up the item and go about your merry way.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Thank you for the reply, Bayohne. I'm hoping that whatever is being done to fix the stability issues is a real fix and not just a band-aid though. I'm fine with the market wards but would hate to see this problem arise again when the PS3 players come in.
The market wards are cramped small and enclosed. I'd much rather they were outside in a decently sized space.Rest assured that the team is in the process on stabilizing and improving the current retainer system.
I would prefer an Auction House at this point. Unless you could combine all wards in a bigger area.
That IS a really good idea. I'm on board.
So they did a poll and the majority wanted an Auction House; and now I find out there may never be an Auction House. I'm very upset by this.
It's annoying to have to keep doing this - you'd think people would check their evidence before running their mouth, but the internet is a brazen world where personal credentials and the value of their word are meaningless concepts.

You'll find fixing the Market Wards is not 1st or 2nd.
You'll find Auction House is not 1st.
Feel free to complain about how adding NMs was 2nd to last and that's all they've done, though. That would at least be accurate statement to complain about.
