No, Amineri, they got different teams.Okay, most of the debate (and invective) has been about what ELSE the team that would be either working on improving the market wards or implementing an auction house would be doing:
What part of the development team do you think is working on balancing the overall economy? I would wager heavily that it's the same team that is working on the market system.
The trade seems to me to be:You can't have two teams working on improving the economy ... they'd be working at cross-purposes. Also, with option 2, with the imbalanced economy and hampered distribution system in place, adding new items to the game becomes problematic.
- Continue coding efforts to stabilize the market wards, add features to improve market ward functionality, and address inflation issues
- Stop all of that development (or significantly slow it down) in order to completely start over with an 'auction house'
I would rather have a mostly-working market ward system and new content added, then to put it all on hold to wait another six months for some pie-in-the-sky miracle auction house that is supposed to magically fix everything.
For starters, how is an auction house going to address the inflation in the game? How is it going to address the overabundance of items?
It isn't.
You don't understand. Worker ants don't protect the queen.
Therefore battle systems teams don't make economic inflation teams.
The solution is so simple!
(this is a joke, Amineri; but don't worry Kilta won't get it)
