Dungeon tank bots?

The only time i have noticed bots are in things like Praetorium. There is this one Tank i've seen a few times at first i thought they were just leeching but they act very odd. They will just stand at the entrance for most of it but follow the party after a certain point and it's always the same point. Never responds to anything either. They had a normal name too so i think they were using a bot program to farm gear from CM and Prae. I guess in content like that it's easier to use a bot program on a Tank since you can always have another Tank to do the main anyway.

Never seen it in any other dungeons yet. A lot of Tanks who can't handle more than one target at a time but i know those are real players because they start blaming me for pulling aggro when they never even touched the other three targets and i pulled them on the first cure XD.

I believe it - I had mostly forgotten about this but I'm pretty sure there was a bot in a party at Cutter's Cry of all places (as a caster/DPS). I didn't believe it at first simply because I can't think of a single reason why anyone would bot the place. So I just kept going without paying much attention at first... but the rest of the party was convinced it was a bot and kept talking about it and trying to communicate with the character/player and pointing out odd things. By the end of the run, I was convinced it was a rather simple bot as well - even after being extremely skeptical initially. It likely wasn't just a crappy mute player (unless the person was insane?) as they would do the exact same actions that led to them dying over and over again at one point (thanks to us experimenting) without question/pause/deviation. There were other odd things as well that would suggest no rational player was controlling the character, but no reason to go into a lot of detail.

I still can't think of any reason to bot characters through a dungeon like Cutter's Cry though and I understand the skepticism.

Bot tanks are a real thing. Our FC encountered one in Satasha, and it's obvious why; the plundered green loot at the end can be resold on the market and for not insignificant money. The bot just needs at the end, and hey presto, 50,000gil
