Dungeon tank bots?

Hey,

I decided to level my Healer and when doing lower level dungeons I always bump into bot tanks? Last week 3/5 dungeons I have done, had bot tanks. You let them die, they release and just come back to party location. Bot-tanks also run where Key Items are (Haukke Manor - Tiny Key locations, Coffers, etc.). I am sure there are more players like me who noticed this? I am not sure if all this tank botting done is just for exp / loot, but it is very annoying. I wait on Qs for like 20 mins as healer, but I can imagine, dps wait is even longer. After that you get party with tank bot, who only tanks one target and rest of ads, just go after healer. Leave 3 players with no Dungeon exp / loot / clear.

I see no reason myself, but why then they are bot-tanking them low level dungeons?

Damn if they are actually clearing dungeons with a bot tank that's a pretty good bot. Have you ever considered maybe they just dont speak english?

Possible. Another possibility is that the so called "bots" just don't know how their skills work (i.e. don't see the point in flash, overpower, realizing the need to cycle through targets, mark targets, tomahock throw/shield lob, etc..).

Being a level 30 tank I am sure you would know a thing or two about tanking.
If they are not english speaking, fair enough, but you can see silly patterns in their movement, moving to opened Coffer, spending like 5-10 seconds at it, runing to some location, where Game Item (Door Key for example) was, spending another 5-10 secs at it where there is absolutely nothing there. Even so, if they die, they repeatedly run to the exact same (Coffer, Key Item) locations and does the 5-10 sec thing once again.

Just google'd a bit, and there are good few people seeing this issue too. I would really recommend using DF for a low lv dungeons and experiencing that yourselves. You can't get "bad" tank 5 out of 8 times, can you? And even so, talking with party people they too get them "tanks" few times in a row, which just adds them numbers up.

That's a clear indicator. A lot of other stuff could be bad play or a confused player, but that sounds automated.

Wonder what the angle is. I could kind of see a profit from all-bot groups farming, but just tank bots among regular players?

"lower level dungeons" ... Hmm, can't say I've seen this. Run a lot of dungeons, but more higher level than lower.

Had a hard time figuring out how there would be profit in that, but I suppose if you get even 1 chest with a few tin pieces in it, then that's some profit. Small profit is fine if you're putting zero effort into it. Or a creature kill gives you a crafting component even.

I have ran with some tanks that I wish would use a bot instead of them playing.
