Please get Naoshi Mizuta to re-do this disastrous soundtrack

So if "nostalgia" only makes XI's music good, how on earth is this song nostalgic? Especially since even story wise you weren't even born

This track is so amateur it's painful, even for Mitsuda.

It's fine if anyone likes it, as music is half subjective, but if we're talking about actual composition, most stuff written by Uematsu post-FFIV is leaps and bounds above this.

Uematsu collaborated with Mizuta and Tanioka for XI. Why's everyone so defensive? Not saying Uematsu sucks, just the XIV soundtrack.

On an additional note, though I like the chocobo theme already in the soundtrack, it seems too...dramatic to be played every single time I hop on a chocobo. I hope they'll come up with something a little softer for regular chocobo rides and save the currently made track for something else chocobo related.

I know, Uematsu did some few tracks but they were very nice. And it was not to defend him but only to remember

I actually like it, though it doesn't matter because we don't have chocobos. But forget chocobos, that's just my nostalgia talking right?

Why's everyone so defensive?

It might have to do with the OP saying that Uematsu has been a flop lately, and then other posters chiming in and saying Mizuta's stuff is way better than anything Uematsu, which is factually incorrect.

There's more to music than just whether you like it or not(although that's probably the most important thing). Music is a lot like writing. There's prose, there are specific tricks and cues that you use, depth, etc.

You may like Mizuta's stuff, and so do I for the most part, but he doesn't have the same depth of skill or experience in creating music that Uematsu does.

It's definitely better than XIV Uematsu, and IN MY OPINION (because apparently this has to be made very clear) better than most Uematsu. But IN MY OPINION Uematsu, while good, is as overrated as FF7.
