    Couple of simple monk changes.

    I really enjoy monk but I think a few small changes would make them perfect... in my eyes anyway.

    1) Shoulder tackle needs a shorter cool down and the minimum range reduced. I love this ability but with the long cool down, long range required and the worry of adding to stun immunity puts it on the list of almost never useful. We are monks... use light armor... we should be able to move around a bit faster than we do.

    2) One Ilm Punch... High cost, low damage, stance requirement and its added effect is almost never useful. If you removed this ability I am not sure anyone would notice.

    3) Fists of Wind. Needs to increase movement speed much more than it does. This should compete with Fists of Fire and Fists of Earth.


    The way I see it... Earth should be for when you cannot avoid damage. Fire for when you need damage but don't need to move much. Wind for when you have to run around a lot (big bosses or add killing) or if damage can be avoided if moving faster helps. There are many fights where all three of these could be useful but currently Wind never really is just because the boost is so small.

    This change would also add another skill check to the Job while also adding some fun to it. Who doesn't like running faster?

    4) Twin snakes buff should be increased by a second or two OR True strike needs a buff. The reward for using True Strike is so tiny when compared to the risk of losing Twin snakes buff that it makes true strike seem worthless.

    Thats it. I think with those 4 changes monk would be perfect. I know lots of people have trouble with GL but honestly I don't see the issue. GL rarely drops and for the times it does many other classes have similar buff losses. Ours may tank longer to build back up but we are designed with that in mind.

    I would much rather see 2 seconds added to twin snakes buff than 5 or more seconds added to GL.

    1) The stun could be removed and i'd be a happy camper.
    2)Agreed
    3)The buff isn't that bad actually. I can always tell i'm moving quite a bit faster than everyone else. But it's hard to really see unless you're next to someone running at normal speed. I don't think it'd be bad if it was a little faster though.
    4) 1 or 2 seconds probably would be fine. All it would really do is eliminate the need to stack extra skill speed just to use true strike.

    4) SS is what bothers me about the situation. I shouldn't need extra gear just to be able to use an ability I got at level 2 without costing myself dps. If you don't talk to other monks or read about it there is a good chance you wouldn't even know it was happening. And yeah 1 or 2 seconds is all that would be needed... If I lose the buff that is the kind of time I need to prevent the drop.

    Only reason I don't really like the stun is because on fights that I need to stun I can't shoulder tackle back, and I can't really use shoulder tackle to interrupt all that well. You can but it's such a waste, especially considering the stun isn't even that long and otherwise the stun on it isn't really needed.

    I could see myself maybe using the stun in PVP if I can, to stun lock for what 3 seconds? Lol with Shoulder tackle and steel peak, we inflict such crazy diminishing returns it's hilarious.

    I have used the stun on shoulder tackle on ifrit... stun tank went down and MT was warrior so I took over stuns until pld got back up. Steel peak > shoulder tackle > steel peat... after that you are out of stuns but that is often enough to get proper stunners back into the fight.

    That logic is flawed. That's like saying I should be able to wear level 1 gear and do maximum DPS at 50. Yes I see where you are trying to go with your argument, but it is misplaced. People argue that SS is a bad stat, but obviously people aren't accepting the fact that it lets you do things like keep twin snakes up and still use true strike.

    Also for the people QQing about losing greased lightning stacks, its easier to keep stacks when you have skill speed.

    Only change I want on monk is for Haymaker to be OGCD.

    Yeah One Ilm Punch is straight trash. That move needs to be relegated to PvP and replaced with something useful. And I'd be okay with losing Stun on Shoulder Tackle (even though I like the Stun most times) if we could use it more often and FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY MAKE IT USABLE AT ANY RANGE WHERE IT'S LIT UP. It's ridiculous that you can't use it if you're too far away AND if you're too close, 1.23's Shoulder Tackle was just fine.
