i was going through a few cutscenes earlier today for coil and i noticed one thing: besides alphinuad's sister and ghost lusioux, our character is going at it alone...how does that even work with some of the mechanics this game poses? there is no way for a single paladin to manage two caduceus, allagan rot would give you forty seconds to kill ads, turn 4 is holy mother of adds, and twintania...is twintainia.

does our character fight a much simpler fight cutscene wise, or is the echo truly that powerful?

never saw them during the cs' when i ran it. turn 4 starting cs your alone, turn 1 starting and mid-dungeon cs you are alone as well.

It's just one of those things where you have to separate story and mechanics.

Your party members show up in the cutscenes when you're actually in the dungeon, but they won't appear when you're rewatching them in your inn room (same for every cutscene, really). No, the game doesn't "remember" what your party members look like to show them when you're rewatching.

I've had the cutscene glitch sometimes when viewing them mid-run, where it only shows a few party members, or none at all. However, it seems the cutscenes are SUPPOSED to show your entire party there with you.

Story-wise, it's hard to tell. After all, the player is basically intended to be the most powerful being in existence that is capable of doing it all. It is very possible that the main character is soloing the binding coil. Remember, technically there was no one helping the player against Titan nor Garuda. Ifrit, you can POSSIBLY infer that your party members were fellow captives.

I wouldn't be surprised, games like this do it all the time. Look at the Elder Scrolls series, it is completely canon that the main character ends up as the head of every major fiction of the game. Does it make sense? Not really, but clearly the main character is meant to be the second coming or something like that.
