I've seen enough places, especially on Titan, where 8 directions only is not enough to get you to safety. In most circumstances on Titan, yes you can. Just move in X direction. But sometimes you have to move in a direction that doesn't correspond to one of those 8. Meaning you have to turn them move, or move twice, which often means you get hit.

Just because you cant do it doesn't mean its imposable for some one to avoid stuff with just a keyboard.
