Keyboard Only

With the coming changes to UI for PS3 and the continual improvement of ARR, is there any chance that we will see the re-implementation of keyboard only controls as an officially supported option? Would this be possible for a personal user to accomplish when Square Enix releases the API for add-ons?

I would love a Keyboard only for PC/
As much as I set it up, I'm finding myself still using mouse and keyboard.

Out of all games I've played I think FFXI has the best keyboard control. Why they fell off on this I don't get it.

whats with this aversion to the mouse? Using the mouse is a good thing. FFXI wasn't keyboard only, but everyone used the keyboard only because the mouse controls were garbage- not because the keyboard controls were great.

I'm all for options but I can't imagine how people could be hoping for this after months to get used to mouse+keyboard. It gives you much greater control than keyboard only can possibly give due to the inablity of a keyboard to give you fine analog control over movement and camera.

on the PS3? pretty sure it wont work on there
pretty sure the OP wants the Keyboard/Mouse controls supported on the PS3 and I vote for this for sure as I know a lot of people who have a PS3 but not a PC powerful enough for this prefer Keyboard/Mouse

Ah yea prolly not, haha I was more talking about PC players who wanted a keyboard only. So then I have to ask, if you're already playing with a PS3 controller, why would you want keyboard only controls?

its a matter of preference, some people are just way more comfortable with Keyboard/Mouse controls than game controllers and find the controllers to be awkward

I completely understand the desire to use what you're most comfortable with. But I think you're misunderstanding what he's asking for. He's asking for the ability to ONLY use the keyboard, no mouse. Which is basically the exact same as using a controller, so I'm just wondering what it is that they want the keyboard only for that they can't do with their controller. ^^;

Whatever taps your keg, I say, but as much as it's contradictory to my general philosophy, I have to agree on some level. The AOEs already eat enough health bars - I can only imagine watching people's faces explode trying to avoid them with crippled controls. But I could be wrong. Is there some fancy technique you'd use a keyboard for to survey surroundings, strafe, and turn / move at the same time? Attack and run while circle-strafing? Rotate the camera? I can't imagine giving up my mouse. Even if it works for some people there's gotta be a better way (there totally is - it's a mouse or a controller).

I don't get it. Please explain.

Not everybody has the option to play the game the same way others do. Due to a medical problem, I only have limited use of my left hand. This makes it impossible for me to play the game with a controller. I can handle keyboard or mouse but have trouble with keyboard 'and' mouse. I have found many ways to deal with this using keybinds and macros though and my only noticeable (to others) problem is my slow typing. A keyboard only option would be helpful to me but not necessary. As is, the interface is still one of the most adaptable I've found, which is why I've been here since PH3 beta.
