you only want garuda to spam the first attack, other attacks are weak for single target.Seems to be wrongish
If you want your pet to use something else like contagion or curl you have to press obey again.
Not saying its technically wrong because if you don't specifically tell it to use it, yeah, it will only spam its first attack.
But that just seems silly not to use a pets stuns or I guess more specifically contagion.
you manually use contagion to make sure that you have all 4 dots (sometimes 5) up on the target before casting contagion, because what's the use of it if garuda just spams contagion and it will sometimes cast it when there are little to no dots?
cant tell you how many times I started a fight and had garuda use contagion without a single dot on a enemy.
in short obey is your friend when using garuda
Correct, you want your summon to only use its main attack until YOU want it to use one of its other abilities. with the prime example of what u said with contagionyou only want garuda to spam the first attack, other attacks are weak for single target.

This is wrong, once Obey is pressed, it stays on Obey even after you use a move like Contagion.Seems to be wrongish

on the link, the "super summoner opener"
he's telling you to swiftcast ifrit after contagion to get a higher damage enkindle and recast garuda again after swift cast is off cooldown, you are spending 1000 mana for an extra 300 damage, actually, it won't even be a damage increase, because during that 1 minute of waiting for swift cast, garuda would have already outdpsed ifrit by garuda's autoattacks by more than 300 damage. you're really just wasting 1000 mana and swiftcast cooldowns.
reference
Raging Strike, apply DoTs then Contagion.
Once Contagion lands, Swiftcast Ifrit out.
Command him to OBEY and grant him Rouse and Spur.
Once he has both buffs, Enkindle the boss.
Once both Rouse and Spur fall off of Ifrit, wait for Swiftcast and summon Garuda once again!

also on the link, the guide tells you to bio2 , miasma , thunder, then bio, this is bad and especially for the opener, you want to bio first before you thunder, so you can fester earlier, if you thunder first, you would have little to no chance for your next fester to cast it with raging strikes up.
edit: correct opener would be, bio2 >miasma>bio (fester during bio recast time)>thunder
reference:
Always start with Bio II, since it is the longest lasting DoT and ending with Bio since it is instant cast!

I agree with you completely.on the link, the "super summoner opener"

For an extra 300-ish damage at such a high cost, the opener can be sometimes taxing and not worth it. I tend to do it in dungeons for the fun of it mainly, I could not see this being as effective in Coil. You may need the swiftcast for a rez or something later on!
But either way, being all fancy and flashy on a dungeon boss can be fun.![]()
True true. Getting a second Fester into an opener would be much better than applying Thunder a few seconds a tiny bit earlier. Nice catch!also on the link, the guide tells you to bio2 , miasma 2, thunder, then bio, this is bad and especially for the opener, you want to bio first before you thunder, so you can fester earlier, if you thunder first, you would have little to no chance for your next fester to cast it with raging strikes up.

oh, you're the author! saw your name riko tachibana (loljapav)I agree with you completely.

but glad you're taking criticisms well, I guess for 'fanciness' sake, pet switching might look cool, but even if it's not mana wise, I think it's still diminishing your dps because garuda does higher single target damage than ifrit and ifrit will be up for 1 minute during the time you're waiting for swiftcast cd.
edit: not to mention, you'll be spending 2 gcds, which equates to two ruins.
