I never had this issue. Garuda always stays with obey with me after Contagion.

The only way Garuda will use Aerial Slash after you command her to Contagion, is if she was in Sic mode prior to Contagion. I've _never_ seen Garuda default back to Sic after a manual Contagion if she had been previously given the Obey order. The only time Obey will reset to Sic is AFAIK on a newly summoned Garuda or zoning into a new instance.

except... you're actually wrong, after watching your own video, your pet was NOT on obey, it was on "guard" the whole time, check the video again at 2 minutes, the pet did not attack prior to contagion.

seriously, this kind of stuff is really easy to test, just go out of mor dhona and look for a mob or something, press OBEY, then contagion, then tell me if your pet still casts aerial slash.


edit: amfg, I've been cringing the whole time cause I couldn't reply on this post and people missed that the garuda in the video was on "guard" instead of obey (cause there's a daily post limit)

Uh no? She's on steady before the fight starts (when I cast my DoTs she doesn't do anything), but I guess it's hard to see that I weave obey in very fast when spamming bio / etc after I notice the first aerial slash.

Also when re-watching the video I notice that for a pet on "guard" as you say it seems pretty convenient she never uses Contagion even once without me telling her (b/c I'm weaving in obey at certain points when I remember to), but uses Aerial Slash almost instantly after contagion each time (most likely would have used it quickly after 2nd contagion if it wasn't still on cd).

But, if you want to believe you're right so much that you won't spam Obey just to make sure she stays on obey, then that's you. I don't mind weaving in a button to make sure.

YEAH, that's what I meant actually, "steady" not "guard" it was a typo.

First, why is she on steady and why are you not using Obey on pull?

Second, she doesn't do anything(steady), you use Contagion, she defaults to Sic. Sic is the default.

That's why Aerial Slash came out.

How are you in coil and not know how Obey works? No, it doesn't revert back to Sic after Congtagion unless she was already in Sic mode before you casted it.

2:28 - scene cut to Caduceus fight
2:57 - Garuda told to Contagion
2:59 - first Wind Slash cast by Garuda
3:03 - first Aerial Slash cast by Garuda
.....
3:34 - second Aerial Slash cast by Garuda
etc.

So, in this video, we see a scene cut to the Caduceus fight. We don't see Obey issued a single time prior to the fight, nor do we see Garuda being summoned.

We do know, based on the fact that Garuda begins to attack only after Contagion is issued, that she was in Standby mode. This is why Garuda did not attack at all for the first 30 seconds of the fight. We do not know whether Garuda was in Sic or Obey mode, we have only to take your word on it. But, everyone can hopefully testify that asking Garuda to Contagion will not force her into Sic mode, if she had previously been in Obey mode.

So, there is no evidence in this video to show that Obey had been called prior to the Contagion, and the fact that Garuda is behaving in Sic mode after the Contagion, we have to assume that Garuda was in Standby/Sic mode before the Contagion. That is the only explanation.

So, you just forgot to issue Obey after you re-summoned Garuda before the cut to Caduceus at 2:27, and when you told Garuda to Contagion at 2:57, she entered Guard/Sic mode, and proceeded to cast Aerial Slash, etc.
