Dragoon and Scholar looking for FC

Allo folks,

My Wife and I have been considering finding a new Free Company since we just don't feel at home in our current one. We are rather laid back players that aren't really concerned with end game raiding right now, although she keeps expressing interest in it for the future. It's just a little hard to keep up a constant raiding schedule with a three year old.


We're looking for a family style adult guild that is going to be able to avoid most of the teenage angst and drama that we're just tired of dealing with. Ideally we would also like to find a FC that doesn't have members cycling in and out of the door ten times every day, as that is just disheartening to see and doesn't speak well for the quality of people being invited.

About us:

I've been in the MMO market for about 15 years now. Most of that time has been spent as a tank over various different games, with about 8 years of it as a healer on an alt. Hardcore raiding was my lifeblood for awhile, but I've lost most interest in it. I'm a FFXI vet as well, where I was a BLU/RDM for a long while once Blue Mage was released, but naturally I had a slew of jobs as most of us did.

In FFXIV I've stuck with Dragoon and I'm not disappointed with it despite a few technical issues I would enjoy seeing changed. I'm always happy to help out others when they need it so long as I'm free. All you need to do is poke me!

She has always been the loner in MMO games and was usually drawn to the more obscure ones that really supported the Korean style grind. But since coming to FFXIV, she's really started to love being a part of a guild and running things as a group. Scholar was her first try at healing and she managed to fall in love with it, so she's been trying to work up her skills as a healer while maintaining her Summoner chops.

One issue we've ran into in our current free company, is our non-use of Ventrilo. We game five feet from each other, and we need to be able to listen to our son in case he wakes up in the middle of the night. And naturally if we game during the day, we can't be on a microphone and voice chat program when we constantly stop to play with our little one or need to hear him. Our free companies chat is a ghost town since they all use voice chat for even the most basic of conversation, and we just feel like we don't belong. So naturally we would love a free company that will actually chat some.

have you considered 8-bit heroes?
We are a friendly FC of all levels. We have no obligations, you can do what you like. We generally try to help each other out. When a player needs a run, or gear, we just ask, and usually will get volunteers.
We do have a ventrillo server, but it is 100% optional, and is only really used by a select few during dungeon runs. Most of the type we use the chat window.

That's ok, I was looking for you all of last night but seem like you were busy friend

Yeah, I wound up making far too much tempura and katsu, so I was in the kitchen for nearly two hours. By the time I had a chance to sit down, we were both exhausted from the day and decided to skip gaming. I will be on some today before she gets home and will try and get in touch with you. Naturally we won't make a choice until we've both had a chance to meet you.

From the wee bit of research we've done, I do actually have a question about Moogle Militia for you Murdax. I've noticed that you require a forum post every two weeks to stay active in the community. Our only worry is that, with our hectic schedule around the little one, we may forget to do that. How forgiving is it if we slip up every now and then?

Well as it relates to that it's a means in which we promote an active community and know our exact numbers instead of having ppl on the roster and wondering if they still played or not. It makes setting up events a lot easier when you know what you are working with. But as it relates to the posting it's not like if you fail to post anything that you would be automatically removed from the community. We have some what changed the rules around that just by visiting the website to keep up to date on community events and what not would show us that you are active and the posting is more now related to you being promoted within the community itself, along with your time spent in it.
