In WoW, what drives most people to raid is to get their class tier set.
Here, maybe an Allagan or two will be BiS... but why would I care about it, when Relic armor is so much cooler, easier to get and almost as good?
Then we have DL gear... without any droppable equivalent, crafted being much harder to get, and way too expensive to make it worthwhile. So you have people running the weakest instance in the game (WP, previously CM) and getting the best gear. There's no incentive to go out and drop your stuff. Many of the AK things I got isn't because I farmed it - it's because everyone was already in DL and had no need for it, and passed.
Next you have Titan who forces you to have DL or higher. So, everything you get in AK and WP is completely worthless, as you can farm CM in your AF and skip all that.
The progression in this game is completely messed up. Dropped items should be more desirable than bought ones, always. No wonder people who want progression are bored - Yoshi-P is effectively removing every single "inconvenience" that comes with MMORPGs.
