    Greetings,

Below is a comment from Hiroshi Minagawa in regards to a question about hotbar sets automatically switching.

As you’ve pointed out, there is a feature that will automatically change sets depending on if you weapon is drawn or sheathed if you turn on the customizable options for set selection when your weapon is drawn.

If you don’t mind your sets not changing based on you weapon being drawn or sheathed, please use the below settings so that your sets are not automatically changed.

    ■Enable customization
     □Hotbar 1 □Hotbar 5
     ■Hotbar 2 □Hotbar 6
     ■Hotbar 3 □Hotbar 7
     ■Hotbar 4 □Hotbar 8

□Enable customization for when weapon is drawn ←Uncheck this option
     □Hotbar 1 □Hotbar 5
     ■Hotbar 2 □Hotbar 6
     ■Hotbar 3 □Hotbar 7
     ■Hotbar 4 □Hotbar 8

We will be adding an option to turn off automatic switching in patch 2.1, so you’ll be able to organize the sets you use independently for drawn and sheathed status and also not have them switch automatically.

So is this supposed to make it not change to hot bar 1 when you pull out your weapon?

I only ever mark targets if DD can't seem to figure out which one has the lowest HP. IMO, we really shouldn't ever have to mark targets.

That's right, target markers are a weakness.

It's not laziness. In 1.0, we couldn't mark outside of leves. How do you think we got through fights then? That's right, we watched the target's hp bar. Marking isn't needed. It's actually lazier to rely on a mark to figure out which target to hit. I shouldn't have to tell DDs how to play their jobs.

    1. ARR is more fast paced than 1.0 was.
    2. If we could have marked in 1.0 we should have marked.
    3. Tanking is simple, and marking a mob is literally one extra key press.
    4. You're making the DDs and potentially healers job harder for no viable reason.
    5. Marking makes DPS more efficient, as they don't have to wait to see which mob is being hit.
    6. Stop being lazy and bad.

You know you can make macros that automatically target a mob with a specific mark? Very useful when dealing with for example, Twintania's adds and having to use Virus, can skip the targeting part completely.
