Than you didnt play 1.0 but majority of the content in 2.0 is re-hashed from 1.0. There is very little that is new in 2.0. Stop dreaming and do some research you will find all the current content in 2.0 is from 1.0.
I have the perfect idea for you.
Level caps, with requirement "real life full moon". So when you get to 20, you have to wait until there is a full moon in real life. Else you can't progress.
As you can see this fulfills all your demands. It is lengthy, maybe months. It is worth doing, because else you are stuck at level 20. And it is FUN, because you get to look for the moon every night and see the beautiful stars.
I honestly don't understand why nobody has made these MMOs yet. They sound super awesome.
Regardless if it has been alterted for 2.0 or not it is still useing the old 1.0 content it is still re-hashed content. A few changes to said content dosent make it new at all. If you want a completely new game it isnt XIV arr or 2.0. We wont see too much NEW content til patch 2.1 and more in 2.2 that is new and not re-used from 1.0.I'm willing to bet that you'd consider something that re-used ~30% of the old, as something that is not new. That's sort of where we're at now that's why. Changes to re-released content are significant (mostly), and everything else is just new in general. But I guess that doesn't qualify for anything.
Maybe the fact that the area names and terms are the same that it sorta feels like it's just an old game. There's a lot of that going on, so I guess if you consider things like generic names/text to be equal to combat/system changes, newly designed areas, new quests, a new class, significantly new content in upcoming patches, etc, then yeah... "majority" of ARR is old content.
camplain all you want, we are reaching 1.5 million players, so, i think people is talking about ffxiv
