Not enough. They're the reason I cancelled auto-renew on my subscription. Watching 4 or 5 of the b**tards popping in and out from one mining node to another... sometimes mining from inside a wall or with the lower half of their body stuck in the ground. I gave up on mining. Can't compete with bots.

...Unless the timed nodes are shared them botting their own nodes actually doesn't hurt you in any way - If anything on some servers the outcome of this is they pushed shards to reasonable prices. Not enough. Don't take this personally, but the only people worse than botters and RMTers are the people who come to their defense. I'm not certain what motivates people to do so. Unless, of course, they themselves are botters and/or buy gold from the RMTers.
But that would be too obvious.
edit: And you're wrong. They hurt *me* because they diminish *my* enjoyment of the game. It demoralizes *me* and demotivates *me*. And it causes me to cancel my auto-renew.

Yea I use to enjoy mining here to try and make a bit of gill but now this bot is just flooding the market with what im trying to sell and hes not even sat at his pc for hours on end like I am.. Its just wrong
it motivates me to innovate new markets. like if the market for low grade dark matter gets nuked by bots/morons(used to be you could sell grade one for 200 a piece, now you're luck to get 25), then I move on to something like rarer crystal variants(read board, get the one with the highest price in the morning/peak hours, and then go mine away. post and profit.) and when they hit that, I go do something else for a while.
if you want to make money amongst a sea of idiots and thieves(botters are thieves, do not try to defend them, they steal someones account until it gets banned and then move onto another stolen account.) then you have to constantly be one step ahead, even if you have to build the stairs on your own.
To be honest the one thing that is tempting me to cancel my renewal is botters/spammers in general. It just makes the game look like some cheap f2p mmo not a AAA title.
And also I get the feeling that SE doesn't care as much because they aren't as prevalent on JP servers. Is this assertion entirely wrong? Probably. But I can't shake that feeling sometimes.

Oh come now. You can't be serious.... im mean really? Are you? If you are then i can safely say you have no idea how an economy works and don't see how its harming peoples way of making gil. Lol...
Its artificially clogging the AH with product that shouldn't be there naturally, so its hurting the flow. Especially since theres 100's of them doing this

Well ive reported this 1 guy twice now and have a video of him doing it. So if SE does nothing now then ill start to think that RMT/Bot/SE is all the same thing....
Square Enix handle bots and cheats like VAC handles bots and cheats, they don't ban an account on a case by case basis, they ban everyone who used the bot, once they've worked out the countermeasure to it.
