    Alternative to Token System: Give crafters more crap to make and use philo to buy the mats.

    There should be Crafted IL 80 gear and IL 90 Gear. And there should be crafted alternatives to 2 piece sets like DL top/bottom combos. E.g. Im currently a tank with tank pants from BCB and no way to get boots till I wait 14 days for 2 myth resets to buy them from DOW Myth Vendor...

    Lol, no. then we will just have a bunch of overly expensive items, just so crafters can over price it and feel special, the system is fine the way it is, prices are set, and don't have to worry about them randomly changing. You just can't spam them and get it quickly, all that suggestion will do is have gill buyers (almost always bad players) running around in high level gear.

    Ugh... that's why no one played FFXI. Trust me, I know that many players migrated from FFXI to FFXIV but you can't deny that FFXI had some of the worse MMO mechanics ever. Lineage 2 had about the same problems however combat was far more interesting IMO. I miss them dark elves.

    I liked how WoW provided gear. They did a good job with progression vs reward. I think FFXIV is following the same guidelines. FFXIV needs to fix some kinks, like their terrible RNG, to give a better experience for players. The vast majority of MMO players (most playing and not surfing the forum) want to be rewarded for the work they do. Not to feel like mindless drone workers. I understand some of you like the grind, prefer it, but isn't it overkill?

    I feel there's already enough tokens systems in place that you don't need this as well. You already have a token alternative to get AF+1 which is equivalent ilvl. Most games have all end-game gears entirely luck-based so yeah.... no.

    I haven't seen anything to suggest the RNG is screwed up. There are going to be far more DPS drops simply because there's more DPS to drop.
    As it is you get tokens and maybe a drop for equivalent iLVL, that's a good hybrid system.

    I'd also bet a million dollars that each crafting event probability is completely independent.
    People are terrible at seat-of-the-pants probability figuring.

    Actually coil is great the way it is. Because the current progression in this game before Coil is extremely linear... get out of AF join the 1500+ clones in full DL with relic then move onto the 250+ clones in AF+1 with relic+1.. when it comes to coil gear there's alot of mismatched armor and this is somewhat of a good thing because players look different. Some have allagan legs on their PLD others have AF+1, they are not just collecting Myths and tokens so we can have a bunch of clones with AF+1 feet and allagan legs, you start to see mixed sets based on the drops people have received.

    4 weeks clearing coil(minus t5) and I've seen a grand total of 2 caster pieces, 4 dragoon chest pieces, 3 bard bracelets, and a melody of monk/dragon/bard gear, few healer/tank pieces here and there. It isn't so much that I want my character completely decked out in Allagan, but at the current rate I'm assuming it'll take upward of 3-4 months just to gear out a single character, let alone an alt. If I were to chose to gear an alt it would require 3 weeks of grinding for another +1, in addition to the myths and 3+ months of coil for a possible chance at Af2 and Af1 pieces. That's 6-7+ months of grinding to fully gear 2 characters when completing end game content weekly. The reward pales in comparison to the work which is why I detest this loot system, although I do support the idea of limiting the loot table based on the amount of classes present.
