    Paladin Cure... Debate, warrior stuff

    Just wondering... Why is cure I the only heal a paladin can access. A paladin that can't really cure themselves just seems silly. It wasn't like that in past games (FFXI) and in other games paladins can heal a lot better than just a 100-200 hp cure.

    I really feel like Paladin should have access to at least Cure II, (tons of mana not really getting used except flash spam and they can use riot blade to get mana back).

    I also feel warrior should be able to cross more out of paladin than just convalescence and awareness and vice versa, paladin should be able to get more than foresight and blood bath.

    Why don't they just make Warrior's one handed axes and change all the Axes to one handed's, and let warrior use shields and let both stuns be crossable from one to the other. Then they both have an off GCD stun and an on GCD stun. Then make Silence crossable to warrior and overpower crossable to paladins.

    Later they could release a DPS extension to warrior that uses 2 handed axes, (dark knight being a sycthe), maybe another dps class like "Berserker" or something.

    The only FF game where PLD healing is worth anything is FF11.

    Or they could make it so we can upgrade a cross class at the expense of a slot. E.g. if we want Cure II we have to take Cure I and Cure II using 2 slots.

    well, we had a good healing spell for PLD in 1.x.
    but since jobs in this game practically only bring 5 Job related skills with them they probably left it out because they felt like it wouldn't be helpful.
    can't really tell what's going on in their brains currently, besides looks, the jobs don't feel like anything in the older games, that's for sure.

    While this is true, this is also an MMO, and it can't really follow the same pattern as single-player games. I don't expect a Paladin to keep themselves alive, but their cures do seem a bit limited. Then again, I'm not a Paladin, just a White Mage.

    I might be wrong, but I feel like some Cross-classes skills are ridiculously stupid
    PLD can have Protect and Stoneskin, but if a WHM is there, there is no point to ever use it, as we have Granite and Proshell.

    Curing is integral to Paladin as far as traditional game lore goes, especially Final Fantasy. I would feel better if paladin had some bonus to Cure. Maybe not as much as WHM but at least being able to heal within 100 HP of them. All this would take is MND on PLD gear.

    The ability to use Raise during combat would be nice also.

    Cover needs its range extended.

    The only thing I can think of is that Paladin is now like Knight from FFT (which is it's Japanese name and should have been translated as such) and the ability to be a melee class stemming from GLD that has more magic potential is being saved for Red Mage, in which case, carry on~

    Excluding FFXI, if you were using a Knight/Paladin to heal, you were doing it wrong. They were at best used to top people off after a fight to conserve your healers MP.
