    In all FF series, only FF11 has Dark Knight and they have nothing to do with Paladin.

    not to nitpick but... ah forget it. The OP means Dark Knight *coughFFIVcough*. Yes, FFXI had dark knights. Yes, they had a love/hate relationship like FFXIV DRG. As with anything with the rumor mill, it's ALL rumors until Square makes it official. Just keep an eye on the FFXIV Lodestone for all the info. ^^

    You're thinking Dark Knight, and that was FFIV where Cecil, a Dark Knight, becomes a Paladin.

    You can't be a Dark Knight yet, but it is one of the most popular choices for being added to the game later.
